Barrett Insurance has been serving the community since 1971, when Tom Barrett founded the agency with a simple motto: “Insurance Direction you can depend on.” In 2005, Son Matt Barrett purchased the agency and carried forward a new philosophy—The Peace to your Protection because insurance is like a peace to a puzzle. For the past 20 years Matt remains a founding member of BNI Synergy Partners (business networking group with 53 members). Matt has also been a member of the Hooksett Kiwanis Club for 32 years which is a community-based children’s organization and currently holds the title of Lt. Governor of Division 6 for the New England and Bermuda District of Kiwanis. Matt Barrett holds an insurance license in ME, NH and VT. In 2025, Barrett Insurance entered an exciting new chapter by joining forces with Boufford Insurance Agency, a respected independent insurance provider based in Bedford, New Hampshire. Led by Principal Jeff Boufford, Boufford Insurance has over 20 years of experience built on integrity, client advocacy, and community commitment.  This partnership allows Barrett Insurance to offer even more resources and expertise while maintaining the same personal touch our clients have always valued. Matt’s spouse Judy Barrett joined the agency in 2011 as Operations Manager to continue the family legacy. Judy is also actively involved in the Hooksett Kiwanis Club and has been a member for the past 15 years and currently holds the title of District Secretary for the New England and Bermuda District of Kiwanis which consists of 116 clubs. In our free time Matt and Judy enjoy traveling, hiking, skiing and just enjoying the outdoors.
